Ok, I wrote a script to tie it into my and Cal's Twitter accounts so hopefully this site gets updated more often now. It might look kind of boring cuz the stories that come out of Twitter all have the same icon (I might change this, not sure yet) and it might be slow on the first load because it does a check on Twitter (which goes down sometimes). It should take 2-5 minutes (or less!) for tweets to show up here.
If for some reason you feel like being able to do the same, leave a comment with your screen name. But it's not going to work if you protect your tweets since I'd need your username/password to access your tweets (and I'd rather not have that responsibility). But if you do, and I add you, all you have to do is use the hash tag #realacid.

So yeah, the site might be up and down. I added a function to one of the libraries and it started giving me errors. I took it out and it still gave me the same errors. I then replaced it with an old copy of the file that worked before but it STILL gave me the same error. The only way I got rid of it was to remove a lot of code. I'm not sure at all what happened but I'll tinker with it later.
So commenting might not work for a while too.
EDIT: It's been fixed and the problem didn't make any sense whatsoever, like I thought. Sigh. I did what I was trying yesterday and it worked this time. Whatever.

Well last night (or just recently), I had a spammer post over 200 spam messages. Actually they weren't spam messages but rather attempts to use Javascript to fuck things up. I realized that I didn't check to see if people tried to sneak Javascript in the User Name or Title fields so yeah, the guy snuck crap in. I've erased all of them (thanks to SQL I was able to do it in 3 commands) but for some fucking weird ass reason, something fucked up with my commenting scripts and it keeps on giving me PHP errors. I replaced the file with an old version and it still gives the exact same error. I have no idea what's going on with it. :( I'll see if I can fix it later. So yeah, the Last Commented section is hosed and I know.
EDIT: It's back up as of 1/19/2007.

As you can see, I'm going to start posting movie reviews again. :) Been watching a decent amount of DVDs.

You should be able to post whatever you want as comments and you can post anonymously if you so choose. But you can't post links if you're not logged in. The spam message count is over 6,000 now.

Wow, the last spammer has been prolific. He's done over 1000 in the past month. I'm now over 5000 spam comments that my spam catcher has caught. Sigh. I wonder if it's ever going to end.

Woohoo! We've hit over 4,000 comment spams! Well, to be exact I've caught 4,053 spam messages at this point. This doesn't include the total junk spam which I can't catch that I've had to erase a few times. By total junk spam I mean something like asdflsafd fasjdflai as dlij fdaf iljasfd pew,bix . I have been getting a lot of those too, which I don't understand because it's just gibberish and the links don't actually go anywhere! It does amuse me that spammers are trying so gosh darn hard to do this comment spam thing and I've never seen even one of those comment spam sites even slightly high on the search engine ratings. |
