This guy has a video of him playing Canon in D on the electric guitar. He has a backing track but he's providing the main electric guitar part. It's pretty cool sounding actually.

Well, she's half and half, I think. At least, according to her bio, although she doesn't look it.

Her name is KT Tunstall and she's a singer. Not a bad one either. Reminds me of Norah Jones with a guitar, her music that is.

I can't really tell if she's cute or not but heck, she's a female rocker. That makes her cool in my book.

Since I love New Order, here's EW's top 10 New Order songs. My personal favorite is True Faith. But a lot of the songs they list are pretty darn good. Hmmm gotta find my best of New Order CD again.

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH! Flash animation with sound. It's fun to watch. It's just a drawn guy tumbling down a hill going "aaahhhhhh!" (set to music).

Pod Util posted by bichen
Pod Util is an iPod utility. It allows you to transfer songs FROM your iPod TO your computer. Pretty useful since iTunes doesn't let you do it. It's shareware but the creators are in the UK so if you want to register it I dunno how it works; I guess you just convert the 10 pounds to dollars?

To be honest, I haven't tried this so I dunno if it works. I tried a program like this before and the shareware version didn't let you copy ALL your songs; it only allowed you to copy like 1/3 of your songs over.

For the celebration of Vegas' 100th year. Get tickets here or at least info about getting tickets. But the concert is going to be outdoors and in Las Vegas in July. Bring some sunscreen.

Keith Schofield makes music videos. I have to say he's quite talented and I like his stuff. My personal favorite would be The Notwist's "The One with the Freaks". I also recommend "3 Feet Deep", "Loud and Clear", and "I am the World". Just a quick run down though if you're curious.

These are all Quicktime.
  • One with the Freaks. Music style is kinda like the Postal Service.

  • 3 Feet Deep. A free style rap song (though I guess it's not really free style). I actually like it. The video is clever too.

  • Single White Female. Music style: more hard core punk.

  • Undercover Funny. Music style: Errr... silly alt rock? I didn't like this one that much (the song that is). It's not bad though.

  • I Am the World. Music style: Quirky poppy song.

  • Loud and Clear. Music style: hip hopish and funk. reminds me a bit of jamaroqui (sp?)

I'm sure a lot of you have heard the rumors that Led Zepplin's "Stairway to Heaven" is Satanic if played backwards. Well, this site talks about it. And it has mp3 sample of what they're talking about. It's probably just a coincidence IMO.

Song Mashups posted by bichen
Mash ups are basically taking two or more songs that have similar beats, chord progressions, keys, or whatnot and mixing them together. Here's some interesting mashups. I like the Boulevard of Broken Songs and Beyoncaville "Crazy In Japan".

Apparently Todd Lynn and Rick Delgado (the writer of the song) have been fired. Miss Jones is still only on a 2 week suspension or something.

Edit: Since at least SOMETHING happened I'm going to let this slowly float on down. Too bad Miss Jones didn't get fired though.

What's That Song? is a game much like "Name that Tune". You select a band and it'll play random clips of songs by said band and four choices. You try to guess the right song. Here's the New Order Edition. They have SOOOO many bands to try.

Smoosh is a rock band. What's special about them? There's only two members who are sisters and... both under 12 years old! They have an interesting style and an interesting story of how they came about... (involves a chance meeting with a member of Death Cab for Cutie).

Remember the original Maiyahi Strange Japanese Flash? Well apparently that song is popular enough to spawn this Flash video too. And yes, it's true that the Maiyahi song is a song by a Romanian group named O-zone. The song is called Dragostea Din Tei. Lyrics are here.

EDIT: Here's the real video for the song. It doesn't seem to like Firefox so you might need IE to view it. Wutaku is very right in that it's a horrible video. Very boy band-ish. The Japanese and fat kid versions are much better. But then again considering the lyrics it's not surprising. Btw English translations are here.
