Another freakin cold day.
I'm starting to get addicted to Dutch sweets. It may be a strange country with too much bureaucracy but they sure know how to make bread and desserts. Currently, I'm buying every week a package of Stroopwafels. They're kind of like thin waffle crackers sandwiching this sugary goo. But it's so good.
A pack of 10 is 1 Euro since it's pretty cheap. Although, according to the nutritional info on the pack, there are 21 g of fat per 100 g of Stroopwafel and package is 290 g. Whoa, that's a lot of fat.
And apparently, Holland is one of the more expensive places to live in Europe. Still not sure why. I've heard various answers but a good barometer for cost of living is always the gas prices. At first glance, it's not so bad.
But remember, that's per liter and there are 3.7 liters in a gallon!!!! Whoa!!!! Luckily, European cars have a pretty decent mileage. Most get 35-40 mpg if my calculations are right.
