BAD CHOICE: Forward Stephen Jackson is admitting the biggest mistake of his pro basketball career was turning down a three-year, $10.2 million offer from the defending champion Spurs and having to sign a two-year, $2.1 million contract with the Hawks after the Spurs withdrew their offer.(from this link).
"I went from winning a championship to being with one of the worst teams in the league," Jackson said. "I find myself asking, 'Why didn't I take that deal with the Spurs?' [But] I've been in worse situations. I was in Venezuela at age 18 -- couldn't speak Spanish, no mama, nobody. Just by myself. I was going to make the best of it."
Jackson is hoping to better his pay by testing the open market again this summer.
"I hope so [because] $10 million was the most money I've seen in my life," he said. "But I felt I deserved more than that."
All I gotta say is. Oops.
